Even though I have millions of different colour nail polishes, different brands, I can't help but feel fed up when it chips!
With the job I do I'm constantly using my hands for washing and dressing. The last thing I want is to look down and see that my lovely camel nail polish is chipped, so I've decided to say goodbye to nail polish for now and hello to shellac.
If you're unsure what shellac is, it's a gel substance that gets hardened under a UV light. It lasts about 3 - 4 weeks.
I've found a little salon not far from me, which does hand shellac for £10. The salon is nothing glitzy therefore not over priced. I can't help but like it that bit more because of this, you don't feel pressured, judged upon by others. I don't know what she does differently but my nails never look damaged once the polish has been removed. I know people have one of those love/hate relationships with shellac people don't know whether to trust it, but I'm a fan.
So for January I decided the colour was going to be RED - bright, tarty, blood red! And I love it!
(I change my colour every month.)

I ask for my nails to be rounded, at the moment they're quite short due to the cold weather making them break!!
(If you're wondering why there's a gap between my nail colour and the cuticle its because a week has gone by since I had my nails done - sorry for the late post!)

TIP: Make sure you take care of your hands and nails, I know sometimes it can feel like a chore but it works.
1. Mouisturize
2. Cuticule care
3. Nail strengthener if weak
